The Award is largely self funding in Australia with any grant support gratefully received from state/territory/federal government being typically directed to specific high need or special need youth. Donors and supporters funds are 100% directed to supporting youth to undertake the Award program. This is by way of assistance with their registration fee, their activity expenses (typically towards the cost of undertaking the adventurous journey) and direct costs of their Award Leader (The Award has approximately 80,000 volunteers)
There are many options for individuals and organisations to support the Award, including financial, pro-bono/in kind and in supporting the delivery of the Award.
Becoming an annual Friend of the Award starts at $240 and these funds are used to assist a disadvantaged young person with their registration and Award activity.
All donations are fully tax deductible
